A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS
Clear answers to the questions that make an interior repaint easier to plan.
A useful price needs the rooms, surfaces and preparation to be defined. Whole-home interiors can cost several thousand dollars; damaged surfaces, high ceilings, occupied rooms and detailed woodwork can increase the work. Use the cost guide as a planning reference and obtain a written, property-specific quote.
Only if they are listed in the quote. A walls-only price can exclude ceilings, doors, door frames, skirting, windows and cupboards. List each surface and ask whether preparation, primer, materials and cleanup are included.
Sometimes, if the painter can stage the work and maintain safe access. Discuss room availability, furniture, pets, ventilation and the paint manufacturer’s reoccupation guidance before agreeing the sequence.
The schedule depends on the room count, repairs, access, number of coats and product drying requirements. Ask for a room-by-room programme, including preparation, drying time, touch-ups and the final walkthrough.
You can request a scope before finalising the colour, but tell the painter about strong colour changes, feature walls and existing dark finishes. These can affect primer selection, coverage and the number of coats. Test a sample in the actual room before buying the full quantity.
